" I just want to say one word to you. Plastics. There' s a great future in plastics". It was 1967 and the young man was Dustin Hoffmann playing Benjamin Braddock, the hero of the film "The Graduate".

UMBRAPLAST SRL was founded shortly afterward, in 1969, as a state of-the-art company with a precocious international vocation thanks to the foresigh of its founder Giuliano Veschi. Today, the company is still owned by the Veschi family and has significantly expanded and diversified its product line from the traditional shopping and carrier bags to also include the following lines:

AUTOMOTIVE, BIODEGRADABLE, WASTE SEPARATION, FABRIC AND "CLASSIC", all to meet the needs of the marketwhile looking towards the future using new technologies with an eye on the eco-sustainability of our products.

Umbraplast is very interested in protecting the environment, so much so that it has obtained OK COMPOST biodegradability certification for its finisched products(and not just the raw materials) from Belgian certification agency Vinçotte to prove the biodegradabilityof the bag and the entire production cycle, using completely biodegradable inks conforming to the EN 13432:2000 standard and the European packaging directive (94/62/EEC).

Compost is the natural result of the decomposition of vegetable substances at the end of their life cycle.

Composting significantly reduces the volume of organic waste (scraps of fruit, food, foliage, etc..) and can be used in agriculture as fertilizer, thushelping the environment dispose of waste in a biologically healthy way, while recovering nutrients that would otherwise be lost.

The entire production process is performed inside the company in continuous shifts24 hours a day, starting from polymer to produce a finished product of any shape and size, with or without personalized printing.
